These markets aim to offer a better access to fresh fruits and vegetables in the West Island.

Our Solidarity Markets not only make nutritious food more accessible to people in vulnerable situations, but they also promote our local economy by sourcing from local farmers, and paying them a fair price. We are proud to say that the average distance traveled by the fruit and vegetables available in our markets remains between 30 and 50 km.

Our "pay what you can" model allows our market participants to pay a fairer price based on their own financial situation. We also accept the "Carte proximité" in all of our markets (see below for more information on this card). And if you are able to, you can "pay it forward" by paying more than our advertised price for your produce. This "extra" will then go to help your fellow West Islanders who are more vulnerable.

Everyone is welcome to shop at our Solidarity Markets!

What one of our 2023 markets participant had to say:

Carte Proximité

Carte Proximité is a project that supports people who do not have economic access to sufficient nutritious produce. This card can be used as a method of payment to purchase food items at any of the participating markets, including our markets, who commit to sourcing an increasing number of their products directly from local farms. Carte Proximité is helping to make healthy food more accessible to all, creating solidarity, promoting local farmers and strengthening short supply chains.

We are not yet accepting applications for our 2025 season. For questions, please send an email to coordonnateur@corbeilledepain.com.
